Miss me ....

Just a short note to let you
all know that I may be gone for a little while
(hopefully just a couple days)
because I'm having some computer woes that
the hubs has to work on so, sadly,
my 'thankfuls' must be interrupted.

My thankful for today is that I
believe, once he actually looks at it,
I'm certain the hubs can fix it!
YAY!

My thankful for yesterday was the 70+ degree
weather & gorgeous sunshine we experienced here
in the Mountain State ...
Anna & I spent most of the afternoon outside
and it just flew by ....

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
I hope it's gorgeous wherever you are!

"I" was lost but now "I's" found ...

Today's post may seem a little strange but, with
that said, if you've ever been in the same
situation you'll probably understand ...

I thought I had lost my iPhone this evening.

Well, that can't be good, right?  Right.

It was several hours before I figured out where
I'd probably left it so I really was in a bit of a panic.

Cell phones these days are so full of information that
losing one is the equivalent of leaving your laptop with all your passwords and your Social Security Number in the middle
of the food court at the mall and begging someone
to steal your identity.
(That may be a bit of an exaggeration but not by much!)

Any way, long story short, after I made a phone call
(I had to actually look up the number because
I didn't have my iPhone!), I started to ask "Did I ....."
before I finished my sentence the answer came ...
"Yes you did" .... Praise God!
It's safe and secure and I can pick it up tomorrow.

Thankfully, I don't have to call AT&T and tell them
I'm an idiot and then (worse than that admission)
buy another phone ....

The Night Crew!

Yes, it's true...
We were the coolest crew!

Doc McKay (also affectionately referred to as 'Pencil')

DJ -- she's shy (NOT! :)

Natalie & Cha-Cha

DJ & Cha-Cha

DJ, Me & Cha-Cha

Cha-Cha & Me ... gone but not forgotten (I hope!)

DJ's birthday cake (IST stands for 'I Stole This' ... long story!)

We used any excuse to eat cake! This was DJ's "boob" cake prior to her breast reduction surgery.
The memory of us explaining what we wanted on the cake still makes me chuckle!

My goodbye cake ... sniff, sniff
(The BLEEOCH/BEEOCH -- such a long story!)

I loved them ... I miss them ...
I wish them well!

I feel privileged to have been a part of them!

My Love ....

My hubby, Roger Dial (aka "Bozo")

He was my high school sweetheart and
I've loved him since I was 17 years old.

Our first date, 1978

I love that we've been together for so long that we can,
and often do, finish each other's sentences.

Our first family photo, Feb. 1980

I love that, with just a glance, he knows
what I'm thinking (whether he likes it or not! ;)

Chilly Thanksgiving day on a drilling rig site, Nov. 2009

I love watching him tease
and interact with my grandgirlies.
I love that they love him as much as I do.

After 32 years, I can say that it's not always
been easy but it's always been worth it!

Always & forever!

Today, I'm thankful he's mine!

The Gals of Lincoln Primary ....

For nearly 20 years I worked with and had the privilege
to know and love some of the most wonderful
women in all the land and
I've never known a group to stick as closely together
by each other as we did back in the day.

We sang, we laughed, we cried, we loved.
Bonds were made that can never be broken.

We were there for each other when
times were good and when tragedy struck.

A marriage of sorts ...
in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer,
and in some cases  'til death do us part.
(RIP Dorothy Lovejoy)

Of course, some of these ladies who are pictured are no
longer there (just like me!) but I included them because
either I didn't know them before LPCC or grew to know
(and love!) them better because of LPCC.

Either way ...
I'm thankful you girlies are part of my life and
some of my best memories!

Country Roads Take Me Home

Fall Creek

Beautiful.

Country.

Familiar.

Peaceful.

Haven.

Today, I'm thankful to call it

HOME

He ain't heavy ....

He's my brother!

My one & only brother ... "Ray Ray"

Brothers and sisters are as close as hands and feet.

(The thought of feet is a little 'icky' ... but you get the idea, right? ;)

My thankful for today is my brother.
Seven-years my junior, I have many memories
of life before his arrival but none are
as sweet as life with him in it!

My KyKy ...

Kylie Jo ...
She's beautiful.
Sweet as sugar.
Makes the funniest faces.
Says the funniest things.
She reminds me of her daddy as a child.

She loves kittens but her daddy is allergic.
She has a pet turtle named "Snailtail".
She is a girlie girl.
Loves to play Barbies.

Her daddy 'fights pirates all the time'.
She loves him very much.
She misses him a lot.
Heartbreaking.

She touchs her Nana's heart.
Loves me as much as I love her.
That's a lot of love.
I'm thankful she's mine.

She loves 'Patience', the aptly named kitten

I love hugs, kisses & help with the dishes :)

 Ode to the Dishwasher ...
My favorite household appliance
 Thank God for dirty dishes, they have a tale to tell;
while others may go hungry, we're eating very well.
~Author Unknown

You load it when they're dirty ...

You unload it when they're clean ...

Perfection in an appliance ...

What could be more simple
or wonderful?

I Heart My Cousins!

I've heard it said that our cousins are our
first friends and I think that's true.

Ellis cousins: Kelly Rae, Gregory & me, probably circa 1970
We were always close when we were little.

I was blessed to have wonderful cousins
on both sides of my family and lots of them!

Kelly Rae, me & Gregory again, Summer 2010
We still love each other!

I'm sure we had our share of childhood
squabbles but I only remember loving them all.

Frye Cousins: Susie, me, Diana, Junior & my brother Ray
December 2006

Today I'm thankful for my cousins ...
I love you all!
(The pictures posted don't come close to representing
everyone I'd like to include ... I've got a lot of cousins! :)

My cousin Jack & his youngest son Tanner.
(Sadly, Jack passed away in January 2009)
My cousin Diana, with sweet Miss Addy (her granddaughter)
and her daughter, Jenny, December 2010

On the right, my cousin Terrie (we call her 'ToTo')
& her daughter Stasha Lynne

Me & my cousins Trinka & Dawn on 'Sea Boots' my uncle (their daddy's) boat,
in Long Beach, CA, circa 1964. Trinka & I were 3, Dawn was 9.

bridesmaid in Dawn's wedding
She & I were very close growing up -- we were only
six-weeks apart (yes, I was the oldest ;)
